Oswego Hospital New Vision Students To Give Presentations

OSWEGO, NY – New Vision students at the Oswego Hospital will make their oral presentations on a variety of medical topics on May 29 and 30.

Each presentation will be no more than ten minutes in length.

The public is invited to attend the presentations, which will be held in the cafeteria conference room.

The schedule for May 29 is Maureen Williams at 9 a.m. on Hirschsprung’s Disease; Samantha Anderson at 9:10 a.m. on non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma; Michelle Harris at 9:20 a.m. on meningitis; Ashley Pidkaminy at 9:30 a.m. on chondrosarcoma; Deborah Morey at 9:40 a.m. on cerebral palsy; Alexa Button at 9:50 a.m. on Stein-Leventhal Syndrome; Kelly Ladd at 10 a.m. on cervical cancer and HPV; Melissa Lynch at 10:10 on bulimia; Mike Sellars at 10:20 a.m. on bipolar disorder; Rachel Freeman at 10:30 a.m. on spina bifida; and Kristin Helinger at 10:40 a.m. on autism.

Also on May 29 at noon is Ryan King on obsessive-compulsive disorder; Josh Donoghue at 12:15 on non-Hodgkin’s lyphoma; Waraguru Gichane at 12:30 p.m. on polycystic ovarian disease; MaryKate Mooney at 12:45 on autism; Andrew Lazzaro at 1 p.m. on cerebral palsy; Devon Amedio at 1:15 p.m. on primordial dwarfism, and Samantha Fiorini at 1:30 p.m. on multiple sclerosis.

The schedule for May 30 includes Andrew Carrow at 9 a.m. on epilepsy; Cyrstal Yablonski at 9:10 a.m. on Wilm’s Tumor; Amy Cowan at 9:20 a.m. on Guillain-Barre Syndrome; Theodore Reifke at 9:30 a.m. on hereditary hemochromatosis; Jason Goessl at 9: 40 a.m. on William’s Syndrome; Jordan Holliday at 9:50 a.m. on osteomyelitis; Casey Donovan at 10 a.m. on celiac disease; Shelyn Boyer at 10:10 a.m. on gastroschisis; David Kinney at 10:20 a.m. on Osgood-Schlatter’s Disease; David Hamler at 10:30 a.m. on type one diabetes and Hilary Callen at 10:40 a.m. on autism.

New Vision is an Oswego County BOCES program for high school seniors.

Through this program, students spend half their school day at Oswego Hospital taking part in rotations in numerous hospital departments three days a week.
