There are new charges against Timothy Sheldon of Oswego, already accused of sexually abusing a child.

The Oswego County Sheriff’s Department Wednesday charged Sheldon, 27, of County Route 89, Bldg #371, town of Oswego, with new counts of felony sex abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.

Police allege he had finger-to-vagina contact with a child under the age of 11 sometime during the first six months of 2008 at a home in the city of Oswego.

This marks the second child with whom Sheldon is accused of having had sexual contact.

Police earlier this month charged Sheldon with three sex abuse-related felonies and three misdemeanors. Police allege he had what they called “sexual contact” with a 7 year old girl beginning in April, 2005 and continuing until July of this year, when the girl was 11 years old. The contact is alleged to have taken place at a home in the town of Oswego and, on July 12, at a home in Volney.

At his new arraignment Wednesday, the judge released him on his own recognizance. Sheldon was already out on bail of $15,000 cash or $30,000 bond for each arrest. He is scheduled to be in court in Oswego Town on July 27 and back in Oswego City Court on August 27.
