UPDATE: Oswego Man Arrested And Charged With Murder

OSWEGO – The Oswego Police Department has identified the female victim in this incident as Rachael M. Allen, age 38, of Baldwinsville, NY. 

An autopsy was conducted by the Onondaga County medical examiner with the cause of death being determined as blunt force trauma. 

Mr. Colon was arraigned on July 14, 2024, at Oswego County CAP court. He was remanded to the Oswego County Jail on no bail.

On July 13, 2024, at about 8:37 PM, the Oswego Police Department was dispatched to 30 W Schuyler St, for a check the welfare complaint. It was reported to police that an unconscious female needed medical attention. Upon arrival, officers met with members of the Oswego Fire Department, who advised the female was deceased. The female’s information will be released pending family notification. 

An investigation was commenced by the Oswego Police Department, with the assistance of the New York State Police and the Oswego County District Attorney’s Office. As a result of the investigation, Ricky Colon, age 35 of Oswego, was arrested and charged with the following alleged offenses: 

Murder in the 2nd degree, a class A-1 felony 

Assault in the 1st degree, a class B felony 

Criminal possession of a weapon in the 3rd degree, a class B felony 

Tampering with physical evidence, a class E felony 

Mr. Colon is being held pending arraignment at the Oswego County CAP court.
