OSWEGO – On Oct. 1 at approximately 10:07 a.m., the Oswego City Police Department responded with Oswego City Fire Department ambulance to 128 E Fourth St. in the city of Oswego in regard to an unresponsive, 55-year-old female.

Preliminary investigation determined that the female suffered injuries that were the result of an assault that occurred at that same location, police said.
The female victim was transported to Upstate hospital in Syracuse, NY.
As a result on the investigation into the incident, on Oct. 1 at 12:30 p.m., members of the Police Department arrested Jason A. Golas (7/28/80) of Oswego.
Golas was charged with Assault in the Second Degree, in violation of section 120.05 subdivision 1 of the New York State Penal Law for striking the victim multiple times causing serious, life threatening injuries which necessitated hospitalization.
On Oct. 2, Golas was arraigned by the Honorable J. Metcalf in Oswego City Court and remanded to Oswego County Jail with no bail.
Golas was given a return court date of Oct. 17 at 9:30 a.m. in Oswego City Court.
As of the time of this release, the victim remains hospitalized with serious injuries.
This is an ongoing investigation.
