SCRIBA, NY – Today, October 16, at around 1:52 p.m., members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash on Silk Road in the Town of Scriba, resulting in the hospitalization of an Oswego man.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that only one vehicle, a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado, was involved. The vehicle was traveling northbound when it left the west side of the roadway and ultimately struck a tree.
The operator and sole occupant of the vehicle was identified as Samuel Vaughn, 22, of Oswego, New York. Vaughn was transported from the scene to Upstate University Hospital with life threatening injuries and is currently in critical condition.
The Oswego County Sheriff’s Office were assisted on scene by Scriba Volunteer Fire Department, New Haven Volunteer Fire Department, Minetto Volunteer Fire Department and Menter Ambulance.
The crash is still under investigation.
