OSWEGO, NY – On Wednesday, members of the Oswego City Police Departments Anti-Crime Team (ACT) received information that Shane C. Nolan, 32, whom was wanted on three separate warrants for his arrest, was possibly manufacturing methamphetamine at an undetermined location within the city of Oswego.
ACT, with the assistance of Criminal Investigation and Patrol Division members located Nolan at 120 Liberty St.
While at that location, investigators determined that the structure likely contained a methamphetamine laboratory.
The structure was evacuated and secured. Additionally, Liberty Street between West Oneida and Turrill streets was closed off to vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
A search warrant for the property was applied for and granted by Oswego City Court Judge, Hon. James Metcalf.
The New York State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team was contacted and responded to the scene.
The structure was searched and evidence of an inactive methamphetamine laboratory was seized as well as a small amount of finished methamphetamine.
As a result of the investigation the following arrest was made:
Shane C. Nolan, Homeless, was arrested and charged with the following:
- Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine in the 3rd Degree – Class D Felony
- Unlawful Disposal of Methamphetamine Laboratory Material – Class E Felony
As of approximately 10:30 p.m. the scene has been released and Liberty Street reopened.
Assisting at the scene were the United States Border Patrol, NYS Department of Environmental Conservation and Oswego Fire Department.
Nolan is currently being held at the Oswego City Police Department pending arraignment in Oswego City Court.
The investigation is continuing and further arrests are possible.
