OSWEGO – On May 9, at approximately 4 a.m., State Police responded to a burglary in progress on County Route 64 in the town of New Haven.
When troopers arrived, the victims had detained one of two suspects found loading their property from their garage into his vehicle.
The second suspect fled the scene on foot prior to police arrival.
The 17-year-old suspect was taken into custody and found to be in possession of a controlled substance without a valid prescription, according to police.
He was charged with Burglary in the 3rd Degree, a class “D” felony, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, a class “A” misdemeanor.
He was arraigned in the Town of Richland Court and is scheduled to reappear at a later date.
The investigation is continuing.
