OSWEGO, NY – Oswego City Police have released the names of the two victims that had been transported to Oswego Hospital following their recovery from the Oswego River on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Leonard M. Nichols of Wellsurg, NY.
As of the time of this release, 52-year-old Clifford Luther of Horseheads, NY, remains at Oswego Hospital in serious condition.
Further investigation into the incident has determined that audible alerts were given in the area regarding the risk of rising water.
The investigation continues regarding the timeframe in which the alerts were given and when the water actually began to rise.
