The business will officially open Wednesday morning. There will be free breakfast sandwiches for the first 100 patrons, as well as other specials, according to Jon Maurer, regional marketing manager.

“We’re very excited. We’ve been looking forward to this day for a long time,” said franchise owner Ray Miranda.

The Canadian-based restaurant chain has about 45 employees in the Port City.

“It’s nice to have a new restaurant like this in the neighborhood,” said one woman who thought the eatery was already open Tuesday. “I’ll be back.”

Several other people, many attracted by the large crowd on hand for the ribbon-cutting ceremony, also thought the restaurant was open for busines.
