The City of Oswego and Port of Oswego Authority Reaffirm Collaborative Commitment

OSWEGO –  The Port of Oswego Authority Interim Executive Director Tom Schneider, Port Supervisor of Development & Maintenance Pat McMahon, Oswego Fire Department Chief Paul Conzone, Assistant Chief Mike Zalewski and Mayor Corradino convened recently to discuss and reaffirm their commitment to working together to ensure the safety of first responders and the broader community. The meeting centered on equipping first responders with the necessary knowledge and resources to effectively handle emergencies, while also highlighting the importance of maintaining strong communication and collaboration. 

Mayor Corradino emphasized the value of this ongoing partnership, stating, “Today’s meeting reflects our shared dedication to the safety and well-being of both our first responders and the citizens they protect. Working hand-in-hand with the Port Authority ensures that we are prepared for any situation and strengthens the ties that bind our community.” 

In addition to emergency preparedness, both parties committed to continuing their cooperation in other areas that promote mutual benefits for the Port and the City of Oswego. This multifaceted approach aims to foster economic growth, environmental stewardship, and a safer, more resilient community. 

Port Authority representatives underscored the importance of communication in achieving these goals, stating, “A strong partnership is built on transparency and collaboration. By maintaining open lines of communication, we can continue to enhance emergency response efforts while identifying new ways to support the community.”
