University Police Arrest Student On Felony Charges

OSWEGO — SUNY Oswego University Police arrested student Romero Collier, 20, on Nov. 17 on two felony charges and one misdemeanor.

Collier, an on-campus resident with a Syracuse home address, was charged with second-degree burglary, a class C felony; third-degree robbery, a class D felony; and petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor.

Late on Nov. 16, University Police responded to a report of a larceny in Oneida Hall.

Upon investigation, officers learned that Collier had allegedly entered a female student’s room, remained unlawfully and had forcibly stolen her laptop computer, according to the police report.

University Police located Collier in Onondaga Hall and placed him under arrest at 1:30 a.m.

Police also recovered the laptop.

Collier was arraigned in Oswego Town Court before Judge Michael Sterio, and remanded to the Oswego County Jail.

Bail was set at $2,000 cash or $4,000 bail bond.
