Seven-year-old Xavier gets some help creating his snow art recently.
OSWEGO, NY – When life gives you snow – create some snow art!

Last week, scores of disgruntled residents in the area bemoaned the heavy wet snow and lack of things to do.
Except for a few hardy souls like Stephanie Burdick’s husband, Dan, and seven-year-old son, Xavier. They took matters into their own hands, literally.
The duo spent hours outside creating a half dozen warm weather themed pieces of snow art in their Penfield Drive, Oswego, lawn.

“Since the weather had been bad preventing us from traveling anywhere, we were running out of ideas of fun things to do at home inside during Xavier’s school break. Needless to say, they had cabin fever,” Stephanie told Oswego County Today. “They decided this would be a fun project that got them outside and away from electronics and approved by mom because no clean up is necessary!”
They started on Valentine’s Day with the heart and flower.

“Dan used our snowblower and made huge mounds that he and Xavier then carved and spray painted different pictures,” Stephanie said. “Each one probably took two hours from start to finish.”
They completed six different pictures of things that Xavier enjoys and reminds him of warmer weather: the heart and flower, the Oswego Speedway race car, a dinosaur, a perch, two Minecraft images, she said.

“As you guessed, they are now all almost all covered up/washed away by the rain and snow. But, Xavier still enjoyed making them and being able to look out his window and see his hard work, even if it was only for one day,” Stephanie said.
