CENTRAL SQUARE – We were just informed that at least ten different school districts, located in Central New York,
received an email with a threat of a bomb being placed in a high school. Even though Central Square
was NOT one of the school districts that received this email bomb threat, we want all of you to know
that it has already been investigated by local and State law enforcement agencies and has been
deemed a hoax that originated from overseas.
We take the safety of our students and our staff as our number one priority, so in the event we
were to ever receive a threat like this, we would follow all of our safety protocols, and we would
immediately inform parents and our staff. The aim of this specific email bomb threat hoax, that ten
different school districts received, was to cause a disruption to the operation of the school buildings.
Again, I want to be very clear that the Central Square Central School District was not one of the school
districts that received this hoax email bomb threat today.
Sincerely,
Thomas J. Colabufo
Superintendent
