SCRIBA – Operators returned Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station Unit 1 to full power Tuesday night (Dec, 13), following a maintenance outage that started on December 10.
Operators manually shut down the unit due to vibration indications on the main turbine, which is on the non-nuclear side of the plant.
While the unit was off-line, skilled technicians completed required repairs and post-maintenance testing on the main turbine.
The Nine Mile Point shutdown did not have an impact on electrical service to Exelon customers.
Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station is located seven miles northeast of Oswego and 50 miles north of Syracuse.
