OSWEGO, NY – Operators returned Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station Unit 2 to full power earlier today (Dec. 6), following a maintenance outage that started on November 24.
While the unit was offline, skilled technicians completed required repairs to one of the unit’s two reactor recirculation pumps.
The recirculation pumps send water back through the reactor and are used to help regulate power.
The Nine Mile Point shutdown did not have an impact on electrical service to Exelon customers.
Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station is located seven miles northeast of Oswego and 50 miles north of Syracuse.
