Alfred E. “Al” Ashby, 72, of Ashby Drive, Phoenix, died Monday, June 9, 2008.
He was born in Fulton to his late parents, Ashton and Hilda (Jackson) Ashby. He was an owner/operator of Ashby’s Sunoco Station, Phoenix.
Ashby was predeceased by his wife, Joan T. (Haynes) Ashby in 1999; his brothers, Richard and Frank; and his sisters, Lois, Katie and Winnie.
He is survived by his sons, Alfie (Rosie) Ashby of Phoenix, Mike (Kim) Ashby of Clay, Bill (Danielle) Ashby of Phoenix; his daughters, Cheryl (Mike) Ray and Donna (Kevin) Lamson, all of Phoenix; his brothers, John and George Ashby of Phoenix; his sisters, Charlotte Barryman of MN and Lillian Murray of Fulton; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, Phoenix, with the Rev. Bruce Bardon officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Baldwinsville.
Calling hours will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home at 431 Main St.
