Angela Marie McDonald (Angie) was born in Buffalo, NY, May 15, 1987. She grew up in Oswego, NY where she attended the Oswego Community Christian School from Kindergarten through eighth grade. All through these years, she played basketball, soccer and hockey.

She went on to Oswego High School where she was the captain of the JV girls Lacrosse Team and played from the Oswego Bucs Varsity Girls Hockey Team. She also played in the Oswego Minor Hockey League.

Angie was an honor student who earned the Scholar Athlete Award and Coach’s Heart and Dedication Award. She was a member of the Oswego County Youth Court for three years. She graduated with honors for the Oswego High School in 2005.

She attended Monroe Community College and worked at Harris Corporation in Fairfax, VA.

She is survived by her parents, Donna and Bruce, her brother Nathan, a sister Kristi (McDonald) & Bill Herbert of Crofton, Md.; nieces Kathryn, Nora, and Bridget, her paternal grandfather Richard McDonald of Orchard Park, NY; several aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.

Angela was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Salvatore and Dolores Borrelli, grandmother, Charline McDonald and an aunt Colleen (McDonald) Dunn of Buffalo, NY.

Angela was an extremely loving, caring daughter. She had an adventurous, competitive spirit and will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all, whose lives she touched.

Funeral Services will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, July 18th at the Nelson Funeral Home.

Calling hours will be held 1-3 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.

  1. What a sad time for this family I did know her but she was a beautiful young lady. I have a niece her age and I feel so sorry for your loss. May god be with you in this time of sorrow.

  2. I was shocked to see that Angela had died. I was the was the City of Oswego Youth Court coordinator on which Angela was a member. She was a very sweet girl who was very conscientious. I always found her to be a wonderful, caring student who genuinely cared about what she was doing to help other teens who were in trouble with the law.
    My heartfelt condolences and prayers go out to her family.

  10. My heart goes out to the Angela’s parents and family. She was a very very good friend and I loved her! I havent been in touch with her for a while and just found out about her death and I am completely in shock! She was truly a beautiful person inside and out and she will be greatly missed. We both started working at Harris the same day, and at orientation we hit it off immediately. We were inseparable for a long time. I cannot believe she is gone. I keep staring at her picture…I am so sorry for your loss.
