Anne M. Cali, 91, 07/24/2009

OSWEGO, NY – Anne M. Cali, 91, and a resident of 116 West Bridge St.  in Oswego and formerly of  Phinney Road in Fulton,  died Friday July 24, 2009, at Loretto Oswego Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was a born in Brooklyn, NY, and was the daughter of the late Adam and Josephine Gerold Hammerbacher.

Mrs. Cali was the widow of Salvatore Cali, who died in 1983.

She had been employed as a telephone operator with the Cole Electric Co. and Sealright Corp. at Oswego Falls, more recently she was a clerk at Cali’s Florist.

Mrs. Cali was a communicant of St. Stephen’s Church, Oswego, and Holy Family Church, Fulton.

She is survived by four daughters, Mary Anne (Sam) Pappalardo of Youngstown, NY, Sally Jane (Richard) Hayes of North Canton, Ohio, Ann Stedman of Lee Center, NY, and Carol (Gerard) Novak of Rennes, France; one son, Michael A. (Ellie) Cali of Oswego; one brother, George  (Patricia) Hammerbacher of Wilkes Barre, Pa.; 14 grandchildren, Christine Tillman of Appleton, NY, Shawn Cali of Fairfax,Va., Joan Kapplen of Cheektowaga, NY, Ted Ippolito of Canton, Ohio, Tom Stedman of Taberg, NY, Michael Cali of Oswego, Tim Stedman of Munnsville, NY, Terry Stedman of Poland, NY, Jim Ippolito of Akron, Ohio, Karen Sohar of North Canton, Ohio, Anne Cali of Oswego, Judy Merchant of Lee Center, NY, Michel Novak of Renne, France and Anne Cecile Novak of Renne, France,  26 great-grandchildren; 1 great- great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Margaret Ebinger and Theresa Vogel; and one brother, Francis Hammerbacher.

Funeral services will be Monday Aug. 3 at 9:30 a.m. from the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. in St. Stephen’s Church.

Calling hours will be Saturday 7-9 p.m. and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. missing or outdated ad config

  1. I AM VERY SORRY TO READ OF YOUR MOTHERS PASSING. SHE WAS AWONDERFUL LADY. I MISSED SEEING HER EVERY WEEK WHEN I WOULD COME TO HER HOUSE TO DO HER HAIR. WE WOULD HAVE WONDERFUL VISITS AND SHE WOULD TELL ME ALL ABOUT HER WONDERFUL FAMILY. SHE WAS ATRULY REMARKABLE LADY. SINCE I MOVED UP TO CROGHAN N.Y. I HADNT SEENYOUR MOM BUT MY THOUGHTS WERE OF HER MANY TIMES. MY PRAYERS GO OUTTO MIKE AND ALL HIS FAMILY PAT LUNETTE
