Bernard “Bernie” M. Purington, 75

Bernard “Bernie” M. Purington, 75, of Fulton died Monday at Van Duyn Home in Syracuse after a long illness.

Mr. Purington was born in Fulton, the son of the late John Purington in 1952, and his mother Hertha Klick Purington in 1982. Bernie worked for Nestle’s for forty-one years before his retirement. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus, and a communicant of Holy Trinity Church. Bernie always loved his cats.

Funeral Services will be Thursday 9:30 a.m. in Holy Trinity Church, Fulton. Spring burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton. Calling hours will be Wednesday 3:00- 6:00 p.m. at the Sugar Funeral Home 224 West Second Street S, Fulton.

  1. Bernie was a great man and humanitarian. He worked tirelessly for the catholic church assisting the priests during hundreds of masses at IC. I will miss him and his keen wit and humor. My office offers our deepest sympathies.
