Bernard Solomon Woolworth, 81

Bernard Solomon Woolworth, 81, a resident of 24 Phillips Rd., Oswego, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at home.

Born in Bernhard’s Bay, NY, to the late Solomon and Florence (Sivers) Woolworth.

He served in the United States Navy as a gunners mate, first class. During WWII.
And was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 2320.

Mr. Woolworth worked at Flexo Wire for 21 years and was a security guard at Hammermill Paper for 4 years.

He also worked for Golden Sun Bus Service and retired from the Oswego City School District as a Bus Driver in 1990 after working for over 15 years.

He loved the outdoors, working in the yard, watching the birds and loved
spending time with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Lois Ann (Pullen) Woolworth of 55 years, whom he married on March 28th, 1953. Ten children, Brenda Culver of Fulton; Bernard (Angelina) Woolworth of Westminster, CA; Michael (Kathleen) Woolworth of Oswego; Deanna (Thomas) Masuicca of Pulaski; Timothy Woolworth of Oswego; Melody (Clayton) Crouch of Fulton; Bonnie (Roderick) Mattot of Oswego; Gary (Tammy) Woolworth of Oswego; Sheryl Masuicca of Virginia Beach, VA and Lynda (Dale) Alford of Oswego; a sister in law, Mildred Piazza; 33 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.
