Betty J. Pullen, 88, 10/17/2008

OSWEGO, NY – Betty J. Pullen, 88, and a resident of 71 Hart St. in Oswego died Friday morning Oct. 17, 2008, in A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital, Fulton.

She was born in Fulton and was the daughter of the late Harry and Lucy Cole Guyer.

Mrs. Pullen was the widow of Lawrence Pullen who died in 1968.

She had been employed for many years as an accounts clerk in the City Clerks Office in Oswego, retiring in 1985.

She was a member of the Faith United Church and had been active in the Church Choir and was Past President of the Women’s Fellowship.

She had also been active with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program and the Crafty Ladies, an organization that produced crafts for the Oswego Hospital Bazaar.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Richard (Lucy) DeLoff of Hannibal, Mrs. Richard (Barbara) Dennison of Hopewell Junction, Debra Pullen of Oswego; two sons, Larry Pullen and Robert (Sheila) Pullen both of Oswego; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, Raymond Guyer, who died in 1979.

Calling hours will be Tuesday 4-7 p.m. at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Faith United Church.

Burial will follow in rural Cemetery.

  1. WAs sadden to read about Betty Pullen’s passing! she and my mom use to play bunko together! WEll I think all of the orginal bunko players are up there together rolling those die! And my dad just shaking his head as he did back then! My thoughts and prayers are with you Bob and your family!

    Been many years ago.
