Brady, Beverly Ann (Robson) of Malden passed away on January 18, 2010.
Born, May 1, 1933, in Oswego, New York, she was the daughter of Lloyd Pridmore Robson and Marjorie (Woodward) Robson.
Beverly graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse from Grace New Haven Community Hospital School for Practical Nurses, New Haven, Connecticut, in 1956. After graduation, Beverly worked as a nurse at Children’s Hospital in Boston caring for young people stricken with polio and confined to ‘iron lungs’ (respirators).
It was during her years as a young nurse at Children’s Hospital that she and George E. Brady, Jr. of Malden, MA, first met and became lifelong friends. Although George remained paralyzed and dependent upon a respirator, Beverly and George married in 1968. During their brief married life, Bev cared for George as he supported them as a Russian language translator. Together they were patrons of the arts, holding season tickets to the Boston Opera, Symphony and Ballet. Throughout her life she enjoyed the performances of the Boston Ballet.
Bev was a caring and devoted nurse at the Davenport Memorial Home for nearly 40 years. The friendships she formed with the guests and staff at the Davenport enriched her life greatly.
Bev was predeceased by her mother and father-in-law, Louise (Finnegan) and George Brady who were devoted to her throughout their lives.
Marie (Brady) Ryder and her husband Bill of Bedford, MA, Patricia (Brady) Martin and her husband Dan Craig of Rindge, N.H., Bill Brady and his wife Donna of Hull, Ma, and Paul Brady and wife Mary of Peabody, Ma, survive Bev. Nieces and nephews, Kathryn, William and Thomas Ryder, Liese Martin, Timothy Brady, Erin Silva, Paul John, Colleen, Patrick and Megan Brady, also survive her. She will be greatly missed by her grand nephew, David Imig, and grand nieces, Olivia Imig, Michelle and Caitlin Ryder, Kathryn D. Ryder, Alexandra Silva as well as her supportive and trusted friend, Beth Walsh, of Malden MA.
Friends and relatives are invited to gather in remembrance at the E. E. Burns & Son Funeral Home, 204 Main Street, Malden, MA from 9:30 to 11 AM on Friday, January 22, 2010. A memorial service and celebration of Bev’s life begins at 10:30. Burial at Forestdale Cemetery, Malden. A collation at the Davenport Memorial Home on 70 Salem Street in Malden follows the burial service.
