OSWEGO, NY – Edward K. Burke, 76, a resident of 150 E. Third St. died on November 8, 2007, at Sunrise Nursing Home.
Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Edward K. and Ruth (Hinman) Burke and was a graduate of Oswego High School.
He was employed with the TJ Burke’s Lumber Co. until his retirement and was an avid sports fan.
Mr. Burke was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving in the Korean Conflict, from 1951-57.
Surviving are two daughters, Teresa (Larry) Goldberg of Baldwinsville and Bridget Cooper of Oswego; a sister, Barbara (Mike) Sullivan of New Jersey; five grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
He was predeceased by his wife. Edwina, in 1991; a son, Timothy Edward; and a sister, Julie Hammer.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. from the Dowdle Funeral Home.
Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
There are no calling hours.

Thank you to all of you for your support of Teresa & Bridget during this sad time. We will miss him, but we are confident too that we will see Ed again, this time with a great new body! God is good, and has sustained us and encouraged us. We will miss his sense of humor and good smile, but we do trust God that he is merciful and kind, and that His presence was with Ed right until the end.
