OSWEGO, NY – Elizabeth T. Bailey, 93, a resident of 347 Thompson Road in the Town of Oswego, died Sunday morning, Nov. 23, 2008, at Loretto Nursing Home.
She was born in Buffalo and was the daughter of the late Clarence and Millie Mentro Thompson.
She was the wife of Raymond Bailey for the past 74 years.
The Baileys would have celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary on Dec. 23.
Mrs. Bailey served 43 years as the Oswego Salvation Army Home League Secretary.
She had been employed at the Oswego Match Factory and was a homemaker and caretaker.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Marvin (Irene) Bailey of Oswego; 18 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by one daughter, Sharon Bailey; three sons, Raymond Bailey Jr. Edward Bailey, Eugene Bailey; and three brothers, Paul Thompson, Myron Thompson and Edward Thompson.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Salvation Army Citadel 85 W. Third St.
Calling hours will be Tuesday 3-7 p.m. at the Citadel prior to the service.
Spring burial will be in Rural Cemetery.
Arrangements are by the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home.
