Carl Thomas ‘Fireball’ Roberts, 81

PHOENIX, NY – Carl Thomas “Fireball” Roberts, 81, of Fulton, (Granby), passed away on Saturday September 10, 2016, at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center, Syracuse, NY.

He was born in the town of Steuben, Oneida County, NY, on August 25, 1935.

He was a graduate of Holland Patent School and later an Army veteran.

“Fireball” was a heavy equipment operator for Upstate NY Operating Engineers Local Union 158, District 545, in Cicero, NY.

For more than 20 years he was on job sites for the Santaro Industries,
Inc.

He was a member of the American Legion in East Syracuse.

“Fireball” was inducted into the Fast Pitch Softball Hall of Fame.

Surviving are his wife of nearly 40 years, Maureen (Woods) Roberts; a son, Carl T. Roberts of Plattsburgh; two step-sons, William Timmons of Kirkville and Timothy Timmons of Tobyhanna, Pa.; two daughters, Alice Lavien of Plattsburgh and Sherry Ellis of Redfield; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a brother, George Roberts of Remsen.

Calling hours will be held on Friday September 16, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Funeral service will be at noon following the calling hours, with Deacon Frank Forish officiating, all in the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, 431 Main St., Phoenix. missing or outdated ad config
