Margaret D. Abbate

FULTON – May 28, 2026, Margaret D. Abbate, 96, of Fulton, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2026. She was born August 4, 1929 in Queens, New York to Frank and Angelina Locaputo. Margaret was a graduate of Newtown High School and dedicated her life to her family as a loving homemaker. She found great joy in gardening, traveling, dining out, and especially cherished the time spent with her family and loved ones. Margaret attended the First United Methodist Church of Fulton, where she enjoyed fellowship and worship with her church community.

She is survived by her four children, Joseph (Glenda) Abbate, Jr. of Fulton, NY, Susan (Louis) DeFelice of Tuxedo, NY, Janeen (Douglas) Cevasco of Baiting Hollow, NY and Vincent (Inka) Abbate of Koln, Germany; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Joseph V. Abbate, Sr.

A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Fulton at a later date.
