OSWEGO – Gerald “Red” Buskey, 89, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, November 23.
A longtime Oswego, New York, resident, Gerald built his life from the ground up while providing for his wife and children. Working at Alcan for 25 years, Gerald would be described as a hard worker and friendly coworker. He was able to have numerous adventures which he would later go on and tell his grandchildren about while gathered around the campfire.
His entire family adored Mr. Buskey as he spent years making wonderful memories with them. He was an avid camper, race enthusiast, animal lover, and harmonica player, a favorite of the entire family.
Gerald is survived by his wife of 68 years, Elinora; children Jerry (Gloria), Tammy, Daniel (Pam), Rodney (Heidi), and Ryan (Kim); and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his son, Randy; daughter Denise; son-in-law, Mike; and two great-granddaughters, Layla and Raelynn.
Gerald left behind an important piece of advice; love and be loved. Something we should all remember during this time of mourning.
There will be a celebration of life at a later date, for now, if you would like to honor his memory, crack open a cold one and remember the good times.
Arrangements are by the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home.
