Alice Sullivan, 86

OSWEGO, NY – Alice Sullivan, 86, a resident of Oswego, passed away on Wednesday March 16, 2016, at her home with her family by her side.

Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Elizabeth (Rawley) McCaffrey.

She attended Kingsford Park School and was a graduate of Oswego High School.

She received her Teaching Degree in English from the State University at Oswego.

She was a teacher at the Liverpool High School before becoming a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family.

She retired from the Oswego County Board of Elections.

Alice was a member of the Oswego Elks Women’s Auxiliary.

She enjoyed baking and bingo and loved going to the casino.

She was an avid bowler.

Surviving are her husband of 64 years, James O. Sullivan; her eight children, Kathleen Wilson of Oswego, Terry (Eugene) Chylinski of Dewitt, James S. Sullivan of Melrose Mass., Elizabeth (Paul) Dinan of Oswego, John Sullivan of East Hampton, Mike Sullivan of Fulton, Paul (Amy) Sullivan of Oswego and Tricia (Craig Bundy) Branch of Oswego; 15 grandchildren, Alex, Eric (Naiching Kuo) and Morgan Chylinski, Sara Wilson, Shannon (Kevin Delong) Dinan, Caitlin (Michael Montagnola) Dinan and Kathleen Dinan, Lindsay, Logan, Meghan, Jordan and Laura Sullivan and Connor, Shanley and Nicole Branch; and a great-grandson, Shane Branch.

She was predeceased by her son, Timothy Sullivan; grandson, James J. Wilson; a sister, Mary Crimmins and two brothers, Rev. Edmund McCaffrey and Alfred McCaffrey.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. from St.Peter’s Church.

Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
