OSWEGO, NY – Beatrice A. Costello, 76, a resident of East 12th Street passed away on Friday November 2, 2012, at her home.
Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Beatrice (Burns) Van Buren and was a graduate of Oswego High School.
She was the assistant manager of S & H Green Stamp and was also employed with Green’s.
For many years, she worked the voting polls at the Crisafulli Rink and had hosted political parties.
Beatrice was a trustee for the Fairview Cemetery in Bundyville and was an avid bunco player.
She was a member of the Trinity Methodist Church where she was a member of the church choir, church treasurer and was also a member of the Ladies Bright and Cheerful Club.
Surviving are husband of 57 years, Leonard Costello; a daughter, Linda Lee Costello; a son, Leonard “Brud” (Janice) Costello Jr.; one grandson, Gregory Costello all of Oswego; and two cousins, Rev. Ruth Wendt and Sandie Bigness both of Florida.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. from the Dowdle Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Fairview Cemetery in Bundyville in memory of Beatrice Costello in care of Willard Spaulding, 2081 County Route 1, Lot 15, Oswego, NY 13126.

I just heard that Bea passed away. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. I have many fond memories of her and I having many long conversations while I would sit with her Mom. She will be missed by all of her Family and Friends. Thinking of Lenny and her children
