Betty Lawton Guyle, 82

OSWEGO, NY – Betty Lawton Guyle, 82, a resident of Scriba, passed away on Monday December 29, 2014, at St.Luke Health Services.

Born in Scriba, she was a daughter of the late Curtis and Marguerite (Cornwell) Coon and was a graduate of Oswego High School.

Betty was employed with Assemblyman Ed Crawford and also for the town of Scriba working under Frank Church.

She was a longtime member of the Lycoming Methodist Church and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and quilting.

Surviving are four sons, James (Cheryl) Lawton of Oswego, Joseph (Carol) Lawton of Oswego, John (Debbie) Lawton of Oswego and Jerry Lawton of Oswego; two sisters, Charlotte Mack of Central Square and Iris Jeanette (DeForest) O’Gorman of Phoneix; nine grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

She was predeceased by her two husbands, Ora V. Lawton in 1978 and Glenn D. Guyle in 1982.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 5 p.m. from the Dowdle Funeral Home.

Spring burial will in North Scriba Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2 – 5 p.m.

The family would like to thank St.Luke Health Services especially the sixth floor for the wonderful care that Betty received.
