David S. Dunn, 50

OSWEGO, NY – David S. Dunn, 50, a resident of Scriba, passed away on Saturday September 27, 2014, at the Upstate Medical University in Syracuse with his family by his side.

Born in Oswego, he was the son of Lawrence and Virginia (Gigon) Dunn and was a graduate of Oswego High School.

He loved his job as animal control for the towns of Scriba, Mexico, Richland, Hastings and Minetto.

Mr. Dunn was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the 1980s.

He was the past commander of the Scriba VFW.

He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish and trap.

He loved to go snowmobiling and also loved to go backpacking in the Adirondacks.

Surviving besides his parents are his wife, the former Elisa Brown; a daughter, Jessica Dunn of Oswego; a brother, Robert (Gail) Dunn of Hannibal; two sisters, Amy (Dennis) Perkins of Oswego and Jennifer (John) Folkenroth of Texas; nieces and nephews, Damien, Logan, Briella and Conner; and several aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. from the Dowdle Funeral Home.

Burial will be in North Scriba Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m.
