Diann Mae Lagoe, 78

OSWEGO, NY – Diann Mae Lagoe, 78, a resident of Oswego, passed away on Friday April 15, 2016, at Oswego Hospital with her loving family by her side.

Born in Granby, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Dorothy
(Perau) Lanphear.

She attended Oswego schools and was a homemaker for her eight children.

Her warm and nurturing personality will be always remembered, as everyone who knew her either called her  “mom” or “Deane.”

She is leaving a legacy of unselfishness by donating  to many charities.

Her strength is an inspiration, having survived breast cancer and other illnesses.

She liked to listen to music, especially her beloved Elvis and George Straight.

She will be missed terribly by all who knew her.

Surviving are her children, Terry Lanphear, Kim Visconti, Rene Kapuscinski, John Lagoe, Gene Lagoe Jr. and Beverly Lagoe all of Oswego.

Also surviving are her brother, Frank Lanphear of Fulton; and two sisters, Faye Blainey of Camillus and Jean Gasowski of Marcellus.

She is blessed with  15 grandchildren, Teresa Burgdorf, Derek Columbus, Frankie Barlow, Jennifer Hoey, Jake Jones; Drew, Cassie, Jessa, Aaron and Mia Lanphear and Michelle, Andrew, Nicole, Gene III and Amanda Lagoe.

She is also blessed with three great-grandchildren and three on the way.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Jennifer Lagoe, in 1985; a son,
Lawrence “Kit” Lagoe, in 1980; a brother, Lee Lanphear; and a sister, Margaret Rookey.

As per her wishes, funeral services will be private and there will be no calling hours.

Burial will be in Fairdale Cemetery.

Arrangements are in the care of the Dowdle Funeral Home.

  2. Words just can’t express how wonderful and loving (mom) was. Such a blessing to have known her and to have spent time with her since childhood. She was always smiling and oh so happy, such a beautiful soul. Forever you will be a piece of my heart.thank you for the laughs the talks about anything and the few drinks.you will be missed by everyone who knew you.   3. did not know her but know her loving grand daughter Teresa and have heard many stories about how wonderful this woman was. I am truly sorry for the family’s loss.
