Donald W. Buske, 91

OSWEGO, NY – Donald W. Buske, 91, a resident of Oswego, passed away on Friday September 5, 2014, at his home.

Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Ethel (Moss) Buske and was a graduate of Oswego High School.

He was the manager at Oswego Castings for more than 30 years.

Mr. Buske was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the European Theatre during World War II.

He was wounded during action in Luxembourg Germany.

He was awarded a Purple Heart and the Congressional Medal of Honor for his personal acts of valor above and beyond the call of duty.

He was a past member of the Elks and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Surviving are his daughter, Donna (David) Reynolds of Oswego; two granddaughters, Colleen Bugnasco of Chicago and Kathleen (Rick) Weber of Marsellus; two sisters-in-law, Nan LaTulip and Jean LaTulip; a cousin, Don Moss; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Rosamond J. “Roe” Buske, on September 2, 2011.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 12:30 p.m. from St. Mary’s Church.

Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

There are no calling hours.
