Eileen G. Esford (Farley), 92

OSWEGO, NY – Eileen G. Esford (Farley), 92, a resident of Oswego, passed away on Sunday February 1, 2015, at her home surrounded by her family.

Born in Oswego, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Grace (Morrison) Pospesel and was a graduate of Oswego High School.

She was employed with Flexo Wire for 39 years and was the secretary of the IAM Union for 17 years.

Eileen was a member of the Lake City Victoria OES for 42 years and the Elizabeth Chapter OES.

She was also a member of the Women of the Moose for 16 years and the V.F.W. Auxiliary.

Surviving are her daughters, Barbara (Jack) Labrosse and Geraldine (Robert) Weber; a brother, Bruce (Patricia) Pospesel; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Norien (Hunter) Sweeney; husbands, Harold Farley and Thomas Esford; brothers, Charles Pospesel, Joseph Pospesel, Fred (Betty) Pospesel, Walter (Irene) Pospesel, Arnold (Ann) Pospesel and Nelson (Eileen) Pospesel; and a granddaughter, Diane Guy.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 7 p.m. from the Dowdle Funeral Home, with calling hours from 5 – 7 p.m. prior to the service.

Spring burial will be in Oswego Town Rural Cemetery.

  1. So sorry for your loss. We knew Eileen and Norien for many years through OES. Eileen was a strong woman. May she rest in peace, taking her place on the shelf in the book of life, where her chapter and memories are forever going to live on.

  2. So sorry for our loss of Auut Eileen, she was a great lady and i will miss knowing she was always there. She had a good life and ac very long one.
    Love you Aunt Eileen, RIP.
