Eric A. Mulcahey, 77

OSWEGO, NY – Eric A. Mulcahey, 77, a resident of Oswego, passed away on Wednesday March 30, 2016, at his home.

Born in Oswego, he was a son of the late Albert and Elsie (Izyk) Mulcahey.

He was a graduate of St. Mary’s School.

He was also a member of the first graduating class of the Oswego Catholic High School and had attended OCC.

He was employed with General Electric,  Niagara Mohawk and later retired from FitzPatrick.

Mr. Mulcahey was a veteran of the Air Force, serving in the 1960s.

He was a life member of the Oswego Elks Lodge #271 and was a member of the Oswego Moose Lodge #743 and the American Legion #268.

He enjoyed boating, camping, traveling, woodworking and loved to read.

Surviving are his wife of 52 years, the former Kathy Walker; a son, David Mulcahey of Oswego, a daughter, Denise (Dan) McCann of Oswego; two stepsons, Richard (Darlene) Mulcahey of Charlotte and Bill (Ellen) Francis of Mexico; a brother, Edward (Lynne) Mulcahey of Union Springs; a sister, Cynthia (Jim) Currier of Georgia Mills, New Hampshire; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his stepson, Duane Francis.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9 a.m. from St. Mary’s Church.

Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Friday from 4 – 7 p.m.

    I’m so sorry you have lost the love of your life. May he rest in peace. I will be praying for you and the entire family. He was one of my mom’s favorites! They are together now.

Although it has been years since we have all been able to get together as a family, I will cherish the memories of those visits.
