Gary Lewis Flack, 70

OSWEGO, NY – Gary Lewis Flack, 70, a resident of Oswego passed away on Friday September 30, 2016, at his home.

Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Lewis Flack and the late Mildred (Wallace) Flack Bowen.

He was a graduate of Oswego High School and attended State SUNY Oswego.

He was employed with the Breneman Hartshorn Shade Company.

He then completed his IBEW Electrical Apprenticeship with Alcan where he was employed as a maintenance electrician for 36 years.

Gary also enjoyed working at Andrew’s Wine Cellar during his retirement.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Church and Choir and enjoyed golfing with the Alcan League.

Gary was an avid fisherman and fly tyer.

Some of the Flacks’ happiest moments were spent cheering the Oswego Marching Buccaneers with the Band Parents Association.

Surviving are his wife of 51 years, the former Jeanette O’Connor; three sons, Lewis of Granby, Timothy (Amy ) of Norwood and Zachary (Matthew Wespfal) of Clay; a sister, Susan (James) Mehegan of Wolcott; stepfather, Leroy Bowen; sister-in-law, Connie O’Connor; and special cousins, Patricia Tripp, Douglas Buske.

Gary’s family wants to thank the Dialysis Center of Oswego, Dr. Robert Morgan and staff and all those who made his life easier.

Gary was a well-loved man by his family and friends.

He will be dearly missed.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. from St. Paul’s Church.

The family will receive family and friends on Wednesday from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Dowdle Funeral Home.

The family request no flowers.
