OSWEGO, NY – Genevieve M. “Jane” Coad, 87, a resident of Oswego, passed away on Thursday May 1, 2014, at Oswego Hospital.
Born in Oswego, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Elizabeth (Cordean) Paternoster and was a graduate of Oswego High School, Class of 1944.
Jane was employed in the office at Columbia Mills, was the head cashier at both W.T. Grants and the Easy Bargain Center, a sales clerk at Tot N Teens Children Shop and later retired from the Domestic Department of Oswego Hospital.
She enjoyed being a homemaker, gardening, shopping and both college and professional football.
Surviving are her son, Fred Coad of South Bend, Indiana; a step-son, Robert (Jean) Coad of Oswego; two step-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Fred (Ted) Coad, in 1997; five sisters and four brothers.
In honor of her wishes there are no calling hours or services.
Arrangements are in care of the Dowdle Funeral Home.
