OSWEGO, NY – Gertrude M. Branshaw, 101, a resident of Oswego, passed away peacefully on Monday April 25, 2016, in Florida.
Born in Oswego, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Margaret (Healey) Kane and had attended Oswego schools.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed crocheting and knitting.
Mrs. Branshaw was a honorary member of the St. Paul’s Altar Rosary and the Legion of Mary.
Surviving are three daughters, Beverly Branshaw of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, Cheryl (Phillip) Diehl of Oswego and Karen (Jan) Gibson of Oswego; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Donald, in 1976; her son, Richard J. Branshaw Sr., in 2009; a grandson, Richard J. Branshaw Jr., in 2013; a brother, Thomas Kane, in 2001; and a sister, Margarie Champagne, in 2001.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. from St. Paul’s Church.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5 – 7 p.m.
