John ‘Jack’ Constanza, 76

OSWEGO, NY – John “Jack” Constanza, 76, a resident of Oswego, passed away on Sunday May 31, 2015, at University Medical Hospital in Syracuse.

Born on July 5, 1938, in Oswego, he was a son of the late Carmen “Carl” and Virginia (Smith) Constanza and was a graduate of Oswego High School.

He served six years in National Guard while working for Coca Cola and later retired from the Steamfitters and Plumbers Local #73 after 30 years of service.

He was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church and was a former member of the Tini Time Sportsman Club at Cranberry Lake.

Surviving are his wife of 53 years, the former Barbara Conzone; a daughter, Christine (Steven) Jacobs of Buffalo; two sons, John P. (Denise) Constanza of Oswego and Mark Constanza of Oswego; six grandchildren, Julie, Crystal, Suzanne and Steven Jr. Jacobs, Joshua and Donovan Constanza; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his son, Paul Constanza; three brothers, Ray, Joseph and Carl Constanza; and two sisters Mary Ann Bartholomew and Alice Constanza.

Jack will always be remembered and loved for his strong will and quick sense of humor.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. from St.Joseph’s Church.

Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m.
