Katherine E. Coffey

OSWEGO, NY – Katherine E. Coffey, 87, a former resident of 235 W. Fifth St. passed away on Wednesday July 4, 2012, at St.Luke Health Services.

Born in Sacketts Harbor, she was the daughter of the late Oliver and Edith (Beckerman) Metcalf and was a graduate of the Sacketts Harbor High School, Class of 1941.

Kay was a homemaker and was a former member of the St. John’s Woman’s Society.

She was also a volunteer for the Human Concerns Center and the Kingsford Park School Library.

Surviving are four sons, Thomas (Terry) Coffey, Michael (Mary) Coffey, Matthew Coffey and Peter (Clionna) Coffey all of Oswego; a daughter, JoAnne (Joseph) Kapuscinski of Oswego; nine grandchildren; four step-grandchlidren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas, in 2010; and her son, Mark, in 1973.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9 a.m. from St.Mary’s Church.

Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Friday from 4-7 p.m.

    I’m sorry to hear about your Mom’s passing. I’m sure she has moved on to a better place but it is never easy for the kids.
