Martin E. Enwright Jr.

OSWEGO, NY – Martin E. Enwright Jr., 90, a resident of 62 E. Sixth St., passed away on Saturday Oct. 8, 2011, at Seneca Hill Manor.

Born in Oswego, he was a son of the late Martin and Cecilia (O’Hara) Enwright.

He was a graduate of Oswego High School and had attended RBI.

He was employed with Alcan for nearly 20 years and was one of the founding members of the Alcan Fire Department.

Mr. Enwright served with the Army Air Corps during World War II.

Marty was a member of the Knights of Columbus #227 for more than 65 years and had achieved Third Degree member status.

He was awarded the great honor of being chosen the 2002 Knight of the Year.

He was an avid hunter and was a member of the St. Paul’s Holy Name Society and the Nocturnal Adoration Society.

Surviving are two sons, Martin (Linda) Enwright III of Oswego and James L. (Jaime) Enwright of Oswego; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, Alice Enwright, in 1990; and two brothers, Leo and Daniel Enwright.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. from St. Paul’s Church.

Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m.
