OSWEGO, NY – Mary A. Schmidt, 89, a resident of East Tenth Street, passed away on Monday Jan. 2, 2012, at Oswego Hospital.
Born in Oswego, she was a daughter of the late George and Rosa (Hoffman) Schmidt and was a graduate of Oswego High School.
Mary was employed with the Long’s Candy Works, Acme Markets, Castrogiovanni’s and later was employed with Bosco and Geers.
She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Women’s Club and the 600 Club in bowling.
She was an avid bowler who enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
Surviving are her sister, Louise Cloonan of Oswego; two nephews, John Cloonan and George Schmidt; a niece, Sharon Schmidt; and a sister-in-law, Ellen Schmidt.
She was predeceased by her brother, George Schmidt.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. from the Grace Lutheran Church.
Spring burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Thrusday from 4-7 p.m.
