OSWEGO, NY – Mary E. McCann, 89, a resident of Oswego, passed away on Monday September 1, 2014, at Seneca Hill Manor.
Born in Minetto, she was a daughter of the late Leon and Nina (Harding) Dumas.
She attended the Minetto School and was a graduate of Oswego High School.
She also attended the Rochester Business Institute for a year.
Mary was a homemaker who enjoyed arts and crafts.
She loved to cook and play Bunco.
She was a member of a bowling team that once captured the New York State Championship.
Mary was a former past president of the Oswego Elks’ Ladies Auxiliary and was a long-time member of the Grace Lutheran Church.
Surviving are her children, Richard (Michele) McCann of Volney, Marcia Angerosa of Camillus and Geneva, Daniel (Denise) McCann of Oswego; a sister, Dawn (Sam) Hart of Minetto; three brothers, Frederick (Emily) Dumas of Minetto, Richard (Kathy) Dumas of Minetto and Edward (Sandy) Dumas of Minetto; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, David McCann; four sisters, Doris Godfrey, Lois LaFore, Tessa Price and Barbara Hitchcock; and two brothers, Don Dumas and Lyle Dumas.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. from the Dowdle Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Minetto Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Grace Lutheran Church, 201 E. Sixth St., Oswego.
