OSWEGO, NY – Richard J. Branshaw Jr., 55, a resident of East Fifth Street, passed away on Tuesday November 5, 2013, at Oswego Hospital after a short illness.
Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Richard J. Branshaw Sr. and Jean (Delahunt) Branshaw of Oswego.
He attended Oswego schools and for a few years was employed with the city of Oswego.
He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved to watch football.
Surviving besides his mother, are his daughter, Ashley (Travis) Knox of Oswego; two granddaughters, Rylee and Peyton Knox of Oswego; a sister, Dolores Richards of Texas; his paternal grandmother, Gertrude Branshaw of Oswego; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister, Victoria Ann; a brother, Robert Joseph; his maternal grandparents, John and Dorothy Delahunt; his paternal grandfather, Donald Branshaw; an uncle, Edward Delahunt; and an aunt, Constance Perry.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. from St.Peter’s Church.
Burial will be in St.Peter’s Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Thursday from 3-7 p.m.
