Bob passed knowing the love of his wife, daughter, grandsons, brother and extended family and friends.

He had a strong faith and devotion to the Lord and grew to have a such a special bond with Saint Marianne Cope.

Born in Oswego, he was a son of the late Otto and Elizabeth (Stock) Schrader.

He attended Oswego schools including St. Paul’s Academy, Oak Hill and Oswego High School.

Mr. Schrader served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict as a radar man.

He was a stellar athlete playing baseball, football and basketball during his younger years.

He enjoyed playing a good game of cards with his brothers and sisters, wife and daughter, grandchildren, and his good friend Sue (of course he liked to play his rules and always to win).

In his younger years, people remember him for his fun loving nature, his strong work ethic, steady faith, and the love of his family.

The love for his family never changed, as later in his life he took on the role of father to his two little “bubs,” Tyler and Kyle.

He taught them baseball, basketball and football and even sat through some soccer.

He, at a young age of 70, coached Oswego Junior League Baseball, Oswego City League Basketball, YMCA Armory Basketball and St. Paul’s Leprechaun League.

He never missed a game and was named “Grandfather of the Year.”

There wasn’t a baseball mom, fellow parent, or nurse that didn’t fall in love with “Big Bob.”

Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Gladys Marie (Leavens) Schrader; two daughters, Melissa (Eric) Barcomb of Oswego and Laurie (James) Congdon of Oswego; four grandchildren, Tyler Perez and Kyle Perez both of Oswego, Tia Congdon of Oswego and Justin Congdon of Lake Placid; a great-granddaughter, Livvy Rebeor of Oswego; two brothers, John (Mary) Schrader and Daniel Schrader (Deb Cloonan) of Oswego; three sisters, Mary (John) Sagneri of Rochester, Agnes (Richard) Neumann of Delmar and Ann (Arthur) Hewitt of North Olmstead, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Deborah Cloonan, Mary, Fran, Betty and Helen Schrader; and brother-in-law, Arthur Hewitt; 46 nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
