OSWEGO, NY – Robert W. Gehan, 75, a resident of Scriba, passed away on Sunday May 24, 2015, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
Born in Oswego, he was a son of the late Harold and Audrey (MacLean) Gehan.
He attended Fitzhugh Park School and was a graduate of Oswego High School.
He was employed with Sealright and later retired from Alcan after 38 years of service.
He was a member of the Lord’s Delight Prayer Group for 34 years and was a lector at St.Peter’s Church.
Robert was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, canoeing, camping and traveling.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, the former Patricia Hibbert; six children, Robert (Cailey) Gehan of Westminster, Md., Rodney (Mary) Gehan of Scriba, Russell (Maria) Gehan of El Paso, Texas, Patricia (Kevin) Buck of of Scriba, Penny (Chris) Starrs of Bristow, Va., and Rich (Anne) Gehan of Pamplin, Va.; a sister, Maida LaTulip of Oswego; 24 grandchildren, Aaron Gehan, Joshua Gehan, Elena Gehan, Russell Gehan, Caitey Gehan, Melissa Buck, Nicholas Gehan, Clare Starrs, Robert Gehan, Cecilia Starrs, Steven Buck, Isaac Gehan, Liam Starrs, Noah Gehan, Jimmy Gehan, Michael Gehan, Jeremy Gehan, Daniel Buck, Michelle Gehan, Solomon Gehan, Joseph Starrs, Isaiah Gehan, Gianna Starrs and Gabriel Starrs.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Douglas and Lynn Gehan; and a sister, Louise Gehan.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. from St.Peter’s Church.
There are no calling hours.
