OSWEGO, NY – Shirley A. Slate, 57, a resident of Scriba, passed away on Thursday June 2, 2016, at the Upstate Medical University in Syracuse.
Born in Franklin, New Jersey, she was a daughter of the late Duane and Betty (Demars) Slate.
She was a health aide with the All Metro Health Services.
She was an avid bingo player and was great at building crafts.
Surviving are her seven children, Manuel Aguzar Jr. of Granby, Marcela Aguzar of Solvay, Aurora Aguzar of Texas, Emilio Aguzar of Oswego, Julian Aguzar of Oswego and twins, Carlton Aguzar of Georgia and Caroline Aguzar of Oswego; a brother, Lee Slate of California; a sister, Audrey Gravlin of Massena; and eight grandchildren.
A celebration of Shirley’s life will take place on Thursday from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Dowdle Funeral Home.
