The second youngest of 10 children, Sue, née Assunta Molinari was born on August 15, 1922, to Dominick and Rocca Molinari in Oswego, NY.

Sue embraced her immigrant Italian heritage in her love for God, family and cooking.

Sue graduated from Oswego High School and immediately went to work for the A &P grocery store.

After World War Il, Sue married the love of her life, Frederick P. LePine, on May 15, 1946.

Together they began building their business ; Freddie’s Restaurant.

Their success was a dual commitment to the business , serving homemade comfort foods, especially their chicken and biscuit dinners, homemade chili, meatloaf, homemade ice creams and rice pudding.

Many remember the proverbial pie and coffee crowd who came every afternoon before going home to their own dining rooms for dinner.

Sue was a lifetime communicant of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church.

In her younger days, she was an active member of the Altar/ Rosary Society.

Family was most important to Sue.

Sue was happiest in her home on Liberty Street where she was born, raised and lived her whole life.

For years she hosted Sunday dinners for her children and their spouses and grandchildren.

The door on Liberty Street was always open with a quick place setting at the dining room table.

Holidays were always made special and filled with tradition and great foods.

For all those times, she will be sadly missed.

Sue was predeceased by her husband, Frederick; and five sisters and four brothers and their spouses: Bertha Polega (Acey), Rose DeSantis (Joseph) Catherine Stanley, (Robert) Mary Sagneri, (Joseph) and Corinne Kelly, (Robert ) Patrick Molinari, (Isabelle) Frank Molinari, (Amelia) Joseph Molinari, (Sara) and Andrew Molinari (Jane); her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ida Ryan LePine and Frederick LePine; and brother and sister-in-law, Thomas J. 1. We have quite a few happy memories ourselves from Freddie’s Restaurant! Our day was Friday! Being Catholic…

With Mrs. LePine’s passing, it is also the passing of a generation (or two!) of memories!

To Freddie and family, sorry to hear of your loss! A mother is irreplaceable!

  2. Suzanne and Families,
You are in my thoughts and prayers, may the beautiful memories of your sweet Mom help you through this difficult time.
    Sincerely,
    Bernice
