Earl Loveland, 75

HANNIBAL, NY – Earl Loveland, 75, of Sterling, died Thursday January 31, 2013, at Oswego Hospital.

Born on August 20, 1937, to the late Earl and Florence Loveland, he was a life resident of the Sterling area.

Earl had owned and operated Loveland Construction from 1980 to 2000 and had previously working for Local 85 in Rochester.

Earl was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing.

He was predeceased by his brother, Raymond Loveland; and a sister, Jane Preeman.

Surviving: his wife of 12 years the former, Roxanne Taylor of Sterling; children, Laura Leitch of North Syracuse, Sherri Anne Scheirer Loveland of Oswego, Michael Loveland of Oswego, Michelle Kelly of Jordan, Mark Loveland of Hannibal, Steven Loveland of Syracuse and Mary Ellen Taylor of Sterling; seven grandchildren; a brother, Nicholas Loveland of Fulton; several nieces and nephews; canine companion, Indy.

Services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at Foster Funeral home, Hannibal.

Spring burial will be at Fairdale Rural Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, 837 Cayuga St., Hannibal.

  1. a wonderful (sometimes cantankerous)giving and kind man.much loved and revered by all who knew him well. he will be missed but never forgotten, as his stories were as big as he was.than you Earl….for including us all in your “wild ride” I will never forget you..as you really were “unforgettable” ?

  4. earl was a wonderful man, everytime we seen each other we wud joke about how much he LOVED food. He was one of a kind and truly a good guy…….u will be missed

  5. I am sad to learn that Earl has passed. My heart felt sympathy to his wonderful family! I will never forget him, he was the kindest, most generous person, not to mention, the funniest! His stories never got old! He will be truly missed by all.
