Edward A. Whelsky, 71

FULTON, NY – Edward Whelsky, 71, of Fulton, died suddenly on Wednesday October 28, 2015.

Born in Darby, Pa., to Michael and Anna May Whelsky, he had resided in the Fulton area his entire life.

After retiring from the city of Fulton, Ed enjoyed meeting people through his stump grinding business, as well as through his ability for buying and selling nearly anything, especially cars, with his motto “if it will shine, it will sell.”

He was a devoted husband of 50 years to his wife Sharon, who passed away on July 22, 2015.

Ed will be greatly missed and remembered as a loving father, devoted husband, caring brother and friend who was always willing to lend a hand.

He is survived by his children, Edward (Dorie) Whelsky of Oneida, NY, Cheryl (Tim) Gregory of Walworth, NY and Edward (Barbara) Egan of Bloomfield, NY; several grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; siblings, Mike (Debbie) Whelsky, Skip (Danielle) Whelsky, Rick Whelsky, Anna May Alnutt, Ardell (Larry) Austin and Bonnie Clark all of the Fulton area.

Calling hours will be held Monday, November 2, from 10 a.m. to noon at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay St., with a graveside service to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Fulton.
